Parking Legality Question

It would depend how wide the pavement is. There WILL be a public right of way across the pavement no matter who owns it. You need to find out which side of the pavement that is and how wide it is, usually about 3ft. Otherwise you'll get a ticket for obstructing a public right of way.

If it is 20 ft wide though and you park up against the building it will be the job of the building owner to stick a civil penalty on there. Plus I think you poor backward people in England can still get clamped for parking on private property!

Nah, mobile van.

Dumbest things ever. I was done in Cumbria @ 100mph on a totally empty motorway ( I have the photos from the court proceedings showing I am literally the only car in sight, also shows that my speed was recorded from a distance of 964metres ) . 4 days after I got out of court I got done on an equally empty motorway at 85mph but just got a fixed penalty so I never got to see how far away I was. Now I make sure that when driving on a motorway I check the horizon for vans every 4-5 seconds, just as you would check your mirrors! It is perfectly possible to spot them by adding this little eye sweep in, touch wood haven't been done since.

Whoops - that was a bit O/T!

Firstly, I would check with the university whether they allow council wardens to issue tickets on their private land?

If you get a reply back saying yes, then I wouldn't park there.

If you get a reply back saying no, then I'd park there, and I'd have that on display on my dash.
