Off to see Lee Evans in a bit. Never parked at Wembley before, is it worth booking in advance? I know advance booking with certain firms in a bit of a mission, anyone got any experience?

There are PLENTY of car parks in close proximity to the stadium which are anywhere from £5-£12. There are a few less than 100 yards away that were £8 last time I went.

I drove to Wembley a couple of years ago to see a concert, never again. It was a nightmare to get to because of traffic and the same to get back from.

Last time we went we parked at the o2 and got the tube.

It took us about an hour and a half to get out when we saw Green Day there. Same as any venue with tens of thousands in attendance though, can't really do much about it.

You parked at the O2 to get to Wembley on the tube? Sounds like an expensive/long way of doing things - that's over an hour on the Tube isn't it?

45 minutes as far as I remember plus I only live a 10 minute drive from there. I wasn't advocating everyone do that but using it as an example.

Fair enough, I just assumed there would be cheaper places to park around there but I've only seen parking prices when something is on at The O2.

Cool, thanks. We live in Streatham Hill so it's about an hour drive. We could tube it but I just can't be bothered, I spend enough time on the tube as it is. I'll just pay when I get there / leave.

If you go in via the industrial estate theirs loads of event parking places. I've used them every year for the NFL, usually costs £10 and is a 1 min walk to the stadium.

You can get a direct train from Streatham Common to Wembley Central. About 15 mins walk to the Stadium but much easier than driving and parking, I'd say.

If you are referring to the Stadium's car parks, then I believe you do indeed need to book in advance, as I don't think there are facilities to just turn up and pay.

Of course, that could be very different with unofficial car parks, especially the smaller ones which are likely doing a cash only first come, first serve.

I would think for a Lee Evans concert, its going to be nothing like as busy as a major sporting event.

The fact that you only live 10 minutes from the O2 kind of makes one wonder why you even drove to there?

Last time I went we parked in an industrial estate pretty close. There were random blokes in hi-viz collecting money, but it didn't feel very official and they got into an argument with one of the factory owners so we parked and snuck off without paying. No problemo.

Found one of those industrial places right next to the stadium, tenner for the night. Lee Evans is fantastic.
