Parp! JonJ

Nah, ek supreme with cu top has it beaten, on looks at least.

I think MI is going to be ahead for a while, my system is destroying work units whenever it reboots and I have to use windows a fair bit in the near future. Damn...

The corsair looks a good buy in my eyes. Get the mips block to go with it and you're away. I badly want a water cooled matx computer, perhaps next year

Ahead i doubt it my rig is having trouble doing anything since these new WU's came out been folding since yesterday after turning my rig off for a while and have only seen a few points trickle through and also my GPU's keep ending WU's early with no reason getting annoying.

I would love a MIPS block and get this finished but i can wait even if i have a very low patience level dunno if you can tell by my post's in here :D

On the subject of delays, I forgot to order a backplate for my HK. So I'm waiting for that to arrive, but I did do a couple of tester WUs on the rig with the stock cooler and all 12GB ram :D Although all the lights on the UD5 come on during the post etc, but then go off when Win 7 loads :(

Now i have found out why i have been getting no points my user name and team number have been reset how the **** does it do that how long has it been like that :(
one week i will have no problems and i can stop stressing about this computer :(

Edit :I have given up for the time being, the SMP is deleting WU's after it has finished doing them and GPU's are just ridiculous so I'm out for a while maybe once i have finished building this computer up and have everything i need in it :(:(:(

Folding is causing me considerable stress as well. If I was windows only I doubt I'd bother with virtual machines, and I've stopped folding on the graphics card after a disagreement with drivers.

However it's the main motivation for getting the i7 to higher clocks. If I come up with a better reason I'll let you know

Right had a reinstall i couldn't let it beat me :) Got a small ish HDD and did a reinstall of vista 64 and am now folding @ about 17k would be more but i'm not 24/7 stable with this clock :D, Cant have stan chasing me need to find more powahhh! :) Also go to overtake Jon ;) been going on forever.

Time for bed :D

You can run but you can't hide :p

Nice scrap you guys are having - keeps things interesting.

Having experienced inexplicable failures and problems in the past (it's one of the reasons I packed it in for a while), I feel your pain. Glad to see you persevering and getting to grips with it :)

Now pulling 20k i can stretch my legs for a bit now can't catch me that quick won't go down without a fight and such rubbish ;)

Edit: 21k ;)

Edit 2: Bah why wont it go right lol, WTF does this mean ?

Aye. I lost the last scrap with Dekez, so would be nice to end this one on top.

Shame it's not a very fair fight, seems to be whoever has the fewer hardware failures wins. I can't reboot without bigadv kicking the bucket so I think I'm going to lose.

Still, good to be ahead for the moment :)

^No idea what that is sadly

Well that error is something to do with the atom in the folding process getting to close to each other, i had to manually kill it and as we all know when running 2 windows smp's they both die when closing the other that's what peed me off really. Really would like to run a virtual box setup now might try later tonight after these two are done but i think i don't have enough ram at the moment to even run a normal linux smp client :(

I think a normal linux smp client uses around 200mb of ram but I could be wrong. It's well under 2gb at least as I ran one in a 2gb virtualbox for a while. No messing around with multiple copies of it, you run it as fah6 -smp 8 and it uses all eight cores.

If I can get online later I'll help out with virtualbox, I've little experience of it on windows but I use it daily under linux. As a warning, my machine has gone silent as it's crunching through a bigadv unit to see if it finishes it safely or not, not because it's stopped folding :)

well i would be online except i have just broke another wifi dongle :( i have got one coming but will be on my phone till then i will probably need a bit of advice when i get running again think i might go cut my wrists lol damm my ham fistedness

Well whilst i am still trying to catch you back up 1 of my GPU clients and one of my SMP clients decided to reset their user and team info for me so in the last 2 days i have been not getting results :(
I noticed when one day i was getting 18k and then the last 2 days 8-10k its the second time that this has happened and yet another week where my machine is still not doing what i want it to do just want it to fold without a problem might have to setup a ubuntu Virtualbox now i have some wifi back :)

Got a small ish HDD

1TB? :D

I've had a few issues myself lately :( basically a no internet issue. However I should be back up and running now.. I can't compete with all this high-end hardware shizzle though  all I've got is me trusty Q6600, an 8600GTS, and a 9600GT I got for a bit more folding power!

It's one problem after another this has been like this since half 7 and i haven't noticed getting tired of it now :(

The SMP cannot seem to shut down the cores properly so sits there doing sod all

I have overtaken you again for now hopefully i will stay ahead for a bit longer although you have gone a bit quiet according to your stats hope there is no Big unit waiting to be dumped

Edit: I knew it was too quiet and have been stomped back down again now to install Ubuntu 9.10 in a virtualbox and see if i can keep it running ;)
