Well im getting a new monitor for christmas, probably about 150 pounds. So im guessing il only get 1080p. Is it not better to have the extra Vram to increase the longevity of the card?

If games use more VRAm, then yes, it will help, however, ATM 1GB is more than fine.

Both cards are good - you ca't really make a wrong decision
