Partition Merge Went Wrong

I need help, I merged two partitions last night, all was going well, it moved the data but then it came up with a 1520 error, now I can't access the partition, only the one I was merging to.

Partition magic won't run in windows now, it just comes up with an init error, I've tried Acronis Disk Director but that wont show any information, I'm just left with 144gb unallocated space

Any help will be much appreciated, I think the data has moved but the partition information is wrong as it only reads 5gb.

Looks like you`ve lost it then as the xxx amount unallocated space is like a new disc i.e with nothing on if you partion the unallocated space the use getback to get your data back only an idea.

So if i`m right you have say a 300gb harddisk split into 2 150 partions you wanted to move the data from one to the other,should it not be simple.

I was merging a 4 gig partition into 140gig to make things tidier.

Thanks to everyone that helped.

I used GetDataBack in the end as-per instruction from a friend and I recovered a fair bit.

I did say use getback,but your friend was right pleased you have it all sorted
