Hello!

I am having a problem with my hard drive partitions. When i installed my OS for my new build yesterday i made two partitions, one 50gb for the OS etc, and one approx. 550gb (just the rest of the drive) for games/storage etc.

However whatever i install seems to install to the 50gb partition by default and i can't figure out how to transfer my files over without messing anything up. I tried just cutting/pasting them over (games files and my documents etc, not the OS) but i got an error message.

Well as i'm sure you have guessed im pretty clueless as to what to do. :(

I took some screenshots to show exactly what i mean:

The two partitions--

The contents of drive C: (the 50gb partition)--

The contents of drive D: (the 550gb partition)--

Is there a certian way to move files between partitions? Something i haven't set up right? Just something simple i have overlooked?
I am using Windows 7 RC, and a Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB HDD.

All replies are greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Thanks for the speedy replies!

When installing games i was just doing default installs, so i will uninstall those and try to specify the install path.

Aside from games though, what about my users folders etc with all my documents and pictures in? Is there a way to move those across? Or should i just make new ones in the storage partition, as otherwise all my pictures and things will be stored in the OS partition (saves them there by default).

Sorry again for the nooby questions! :p

Thanks!
-Doug.
