Partition??

Hello all
So my new machine's built and, after a minor hiccup, Windows 7 is installed.
But when I went into Disk Management I noticed that my C drive has a 100mb partition of unallocated space.
Now, I know that the installation of Windows 7 creates a 100mb partition - but I expected this to be hidden or something - and definitely not to be categorised as unallocated.
Could this be anything to do with my first failed Windows installation I wonder?
It was 5 minutes into the 'Expanding files' stage when I got a 'Windows cannot install required files. The file may be corrupt or missing etc' error for some reason.
I tried again and when it got to the stage of choosing where to install I noticed the 100mb partition. I tried to delete this but was able to only delete the contents - leaving 100mb of unallocated space. Then I chose the rest of the drive as the place to install Windows and it all worked.
Could the 100mb partition I have now be the one that was created that first time? If it's unallocated doesn't that mean there's nothing on there?
So finally to my question: How do I get rid of this annoying little partition? Or rather how can I reclaim it back into a single volumed C-drive?
I've never really explored the whole partitioning thing, hence my uncertainty.
Thanks

Anyone got any thoughts on this?
I've googled a bit and it seems a lot of people have a 100mb partition visible in Disk Manager, BUT it's usually designated 'System' or 'Reserved' or something. Mine is clearly 'Unallocated'.
How do I get rid of this partitioning... or at very least fill it with the system recovery files that I think are meant to be there?
Thanks

So have you got 2 100mb partitions then? one with system files and one without? or just one without any? If you have two then Id just leave it and write off the 100mb, if you dont have another thats concerning, I wouldnt of thought it would even work. You'd be best deleting the partition, this may involve a full reformat and start again though

I just have one 100mb partition on the drive and it's unallocated.
I think I know what happened: When I first tried to install windows it got beyond the stage where partitioning happened before it failed. When I tried again I noticed this partitition, tried to delete the 100mb partition but only succeeded in deleting the contents (making it unallocated). The remainder of the drive WAS allocated, having gone through that initial partitioning process. Now, I've read that Windows 7 installation only creates the 100mb partition when it's installing to an Unallocated volume. So Windows installed to the remainder of the drive (Allocated) and I'm left without a System Reserved partition... just an empty Unallocated 100mb partition adjacent to the rest of the volume.
Do you think I should just start again?
If so, how do I get rid of the partition and have the whole 640gb drive UNallocated, so that the installation proceeds properly - including the subsequent creation of the necessary System Reserved 100mb partition?
Thanks

I've got the same 100mb partition on my fresh install of win7 too. It didn't however have a failed install tho. just did this the first time around. I think this just my be normal and nothing to worry about.

anyone else got any ideas?
