Partitioned a hard drive

Loaded windows 7 on to my sons computer but used a new 1tb drive.

I decided to split it into 2 partitions of 200 / 800 - I loaded Win7 into the smaller partition but now that the compuetr is loaded and booted up, it cannot see the 800GB - any ideas where i have gone wrong?

Can you see it in Disk Management? Right click on 'Computer' and select manage, and then go to storage in the sidebar.

It will most likely be because the partition isn't formatted in NTFS or FAT32.

Right click on My Computer > Manage
Click on Disk Management on the left hand side

The disk map under the list should show your 1TB drive, 200GB for Windows as Active or Primary, then there will be 800GB empty space, right click on that and click on Create Partition... then you should be all set!
