I have a Dell Vostro 200 with a 300Gb Hard Drive.

I want to partition the drive but it is already partitioned, can I partition my current system drive?

Cheers!

as far as i was aware you couldn't shrink an already partitioned drive, instead you'd have to restart from scratch but i wait to be proven wrong.

tbh i think no matter what people say you should partition your drive, even if it proves pointless in terms of performance, learning is still learning and you may one day need to know how to do simple tasks like this which in future would only take 10 seconds, rather then an hour or 2 to do.

Pm 8.0 definately resizes mate, I had to as my laptop 80gb needed splitting into two 40gb partitions.

was it already partitioned though?

ah maybe actually you are right, reading a thread i made earlier someone suggested not to but i thought that said you can't.

any way my suggestion still stands, the op should do this as its not too much of a job and always good to learn something new even if it proves to be pointless
