Hi, i'm getting my new pc tomorrow so am hoping to get some advice on making it run as quick as possible, it's hard disk will be a 1tb f3 running windows 7 64bit. I want to have gaming and work on separate areas or partitions so neither would be really affecting each other as I'll be rendering and don't want any background programs running . And then I guess I want files on another partition.
But I'm not sure this is possible? I hope I explained myself well enough.

Simply make a partition for your Windows OS/Programs folders (ie. boot partition), say 60-80GB and then make 2 other partitions with the remaining space, 1 for you games and 1 for your "work files"...the size of these 2 partitions will depend on your usage etc...

You should probably be able to do this from within the Disk Management facility (Extend/Shrink/Delete Volume), if you need a 3rd party utility, then use gParted
