Partitions on a HDD

Feel like a total Noob asking this

I've just got hold of a 120Gb HDD that's been split into 4 partitions,whats the best way to get these to merge back into a one or two partitions ?

I think it is done this way:

Right Click My Computer->Manage->Disk Management->in righthand pane, right click partition->Delete Logical Drive, do this for as many as you want to Delete, then you are left with "unallocated space" (I think it is called), simply right click Create?/Format, to make a working partition.

Assuming that you want to keep the data that's on the partitions then Partition Magic is the only way I know of to do this.

yea use Partition Magic 7+

when u go to merge the partitions it will ask u to put in a folder name for the backup of your data to be moved to the merged partition

or u can move the data across your self then merge them, take your time befor you merge them just so you dont mess things up.
