Hi everyone

I need a CPU, Motherboard and RAM and my budget is a maximum of £300. My cousin sent me a picture of Ryzen CPU's in order of not recommended to recommended. Not sure how accurate this is though but he seems to know what he's talking about but I am a complete noob when it comes to things like this.

He has mentioned the Ryzen 5 5600G which he said comes with dedicated graphics and this would be useful as my graphics card is a Radeon RX 550 and isn't great.

He also mentioned Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB 3200mhz RAM

He is yet to recommend a motherboard.

Any advice on the information above would be really appreciated

I'd suggest something like this:

AMD Ryzen 5 5600 Six Core 4.4GHz (Socket AM4) Processor - Retail - £149.99
Gigabyte B550 Gaming X V2 (AMD AM4) B550 ATX Motherboard - £115.99
Lexar Hades 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-28800C18 3600MHz Dual/Quad Channel Kit - £39.95

Grand Total: £313.92 (includes delivery charge, £7.99)

The 5600 doesn't have the IGP, but it is a faster CPU. I don't think you'll find that there's much benefit on the 5600G versus the RX 550 (especially if you have the 128-bit version), from what I've seen some games prefer the Vega IGP, others prefer the RX 550, though it would give you a spare if anything happens.

Assuming you must have amd the above is the better option, the rx550 generally out performs the 5600g built in gpu. Having said that I have seen the 5600g for under £120 and while there might be a small impact on performance you do get the spare gpu etc.

If you're ok with intel...someone would need to check this over for me
core i5 12400f @ £180 (no igpu so needs to use rx 550) can be found for £160
h610 motherboard @ £80+
Lexar Hades 16GB (2x8GB) @ £40

Total £280-300

Not 100% sure if the 12400f comes with a cpu cooler....

I'd consider going used for the CPU and Board, maybe a ryzen 3600 which go for about £70 and if you can pick up a board for a similar price then you would have £100 spare to put towards a better GPU like a used GTX1070 which start at just over £100
