Parvum S2 or Phanteks Evolv

I did actually look at that case, but at £135, not sure I'd be willing to pay that. Does look nice though, will agree to that :)

im still in two minds to get a Lian Li PC-V359WRX or wait for the parvum ATX , but it does look a nice case, and i like the front and top view window.

I have a Evolv arriving tomorrow, I will take some pics next to my h440.

if anyone needs pics of anything, ask now before I merge 2 builds into it!
Why did you opt for the Evolv over the H440? I'm actually deciding between these two cases, and I'm leaning towards the Evolv, but curious to know why you're moving from the H440. From reviews, there doesn't seem to be a GREAT deal between them in terms of temps, and the Evolv might be noisier, which has me concerned.

I'm not to worried about the Evolv, My money is on the 200mm fan, just swap it out for 2 smaller fans.

H440 is a good case, apart from the side window scratches like hell and the red plastic looks too cheap.

My H440 and Vuclan builds are merging into one. I need a gaming rig and something to run my VM Lab. Just taking the best parts from both, I want everything to run from one box. Also the Evolv will give me something different when I take the jump to a custom loop.

End of the day do you want a MATX build or ATX one ?

I'm MATX at the moment (in a TJ08-E), so no plans for ATX, but I was considering going SLI in the near future (with 970s most likely), and although my board can do that (EVGA Z68 SLI Micro 1155), I was slightly concerned with the Evolv that the space might be a bit tight in there with airflow. Now this noise issue has me worried.

Swap out the 200mm in the Evolv? Is that the noisier one then? They both seemed quite quiet fans from most reviews I read, so the KitGuru review puzzled me. I have read on 5v they are all very quiet though, but what that does to temps can't be ignored of course... about 10 degrees on CPU (even more on GPU) according to the review here (need to translate from German).

I've no idea how this compares to H440 in a similar setup though. I know the fans in that run at 12v all the time and there's no controller, which is probably necessary given the poor airflow, but the sound deadening helps there of course. There is no such sound proofing in the Evolv, even though the thick panels might help somewhat, so running the fans at 12v seems somewhat unncessary (and noisy), but 5v means a big increase in temps. Or so it would seem anyway. Is there a middle ground here, can you volt them somewhere in-between? This is not an area I am experienced in.

Maybe there is a solution here with putting new fans in the Evolv (as it seems you are doing), quiet ones that can cool really well. Yet I keep reading good things about the Phanteks fans that are in this case, so I don't which way is up anymore! Help...

SLI you only have a few options for cards unless you water cool them. I went with 1 MSI 970.

I used a corsair cable to drop down the fan hub to 5v in my H440 its about 35dB according to some free app. I had to take the top and front off over summer to keep temps down.

I am just guessing it the 200mm, I had 2 of then in my Phantom and they made a lot of noise at high rpm

Case is just about to arrive :D

I'm not sure how the PWM hub works in the Evolv, never had one before, but I guess the key will be having the most quiet efficient fans possible... but as I say, the included Phantek ones are very effective in that regard by all accounts. I'm not sure what would be THAT much better tbh. My TJ08-E certainly isn't a silent case... the Air Penetrator 180mm AP181 that's up front is a great performer but isn't known to be a super quiet fan. That said, I'm used to it it now. I don't know if 200mm fans are better or worse. I REALLY want the Evolv to work, as I love the look of it, the build quality and everything else about it. Then again, part of me is thinking if I'm going SLI in the future, should I just go back to ATX and get a new mbd?

Here are some photos, It is like a Mini H440 !

You can fit a 280mm rad in the front, if you are willing to mod for some extra height

I want to go SLI too and had the same thoughts, So I am waiting for the water block. Once done I do a photo of 970 with a 670. I don't think going atx is worth the money if you need to buy a new CPU.

Looks good! I wouldn't need to buy a new CPU, just a new mbd. I have an i5 2500k 1155 (Sandy Bridge). Decisions, decisions!

My plan in the Evolv would be to put a 240 AIO in the roof... the new Coolermaster Nepton 240M (when it's available). Front/rear fan I've no idea what to do there, I don't know much about fans. The SLI thing has me thinking though. It's possible of course, but I don't know if it will end up being a mini furnace in there if I go that way. I don't want a noisy case, but I don't expect whisper silent either.

Can you give your opinion on the side window, I think mine is not so clear and cloudy in some spots, blurry/distorted around the edges in some areas as well.

The PWM fan controller that comes with the Phantek's cases is a really good way of controlling fans, basically what you do is connect all of your fans to the PWM controller and plug the PWM cable into a PWM fan socket into your motherboard. The motherboard will then adjust the speed of the fans depending on CPU temperature.

You can either set the fan control through the bios or using your motherboards software to adjust the speed and curve yourself in windows.

Now that's clever. Question is how cool and loud the Evolv is!?

It does not work for me, all fans spin 100%. I connect them directly to the mobo and control them through bios.
