Hi Guys

Over the past year we have seen our exclusive partners Parvum Systems grow from being a relative unknown in our industry to having an underlying presence at every industry event whilst maintaining their important cool factor.

Every project log section on practically every forum I visit at the moment is bristling with these stylish plastic boxes and for good reason.

A Parvum Systems case allows you to show off your hardware in a stylish chassis that isn't a mass produced black box from a country you've never been to. Every Parvum case is cut right here in the UK by a small team who love the aesthetic of hardware and case modding.

Today we are delighted to announce the expansion of our Parvum Systems range with the inclusion of a full accessory range that is available in a range of unique colours.

Not only does this accessory range offer up a range of replacement parts for people looking to mod their existing Parvum Systems Cases, but it offers a few unique colour options not available on the standard Chassis range such as coloured mid walls and vented bases.

Can someone educate me about Parvum please ? To me they look like cheap little plastic boxes that are overly hyped, What am I missing

What do you need to know?

What sort of thing do you look for in a PC case?

Do you do much custom work or tend to build around the case manufacturers intended guidelines?

What sort of cases do you have experience with and what sort of examples of systems do you like the look of?

If you can let me know the answers to that from your point if view then I can let you know what you're missing.

I have a load of parvum custom work for my current project as well as an early sample of their upcoming itx case and it really is a massive step away from what every case manufacturer on the planet currently does.

Thinking outside the box does wonders.

If you like the brushed metal unibody looks (all hidden fixing) these are not for you.
If you want a SFF with the smallest footbrint this case also isn't for you.

But as a S1.0 owner the acrylic they use isn't cheap.
It's scratch resistant, with a matt finish (unlike perspex)
The white and solid colours are slighty opaque so the case when built has a luminous feel especial in sunlight or when internally lit.

The construction allows you to build and tweek your system very easily as all panels are removable.

A lot of thought has gone into where you install your hardware.
And some of the cost is linked to this R&D.

The panels are cut one at a time (it's not rolled and punch steel afterall)
this accounts for some of the cost

The metal corner cubes are a-maze-zing (so cool you can now buy them separatly!)

The aesthetics are more form follows function - but do have a 'style' of there own.
It not to everones taste, I full accept.
But is easily mod-able, wooden, metal, polycarbonate, carbonfibre panels can be swapped in/out
or dip / wrap the stock ones - 30 minute job

It's been designed with watercooling in mind - and out of the box it excells as such.
If you want to mod or even just add some internal lighting its an excelent case
Air cooling as stock their are alturnatives that work better / smaller / less expensive
Need lots of HHD storage - it's rubish - get a full tower / NAS

Personally it way to big for a SFF build - and why mine is now 20 litres :)

This actually sounds very appealing to me, When they come out with a full sized version I'll possibly invest in one :)

As above, they're neither cheap, little, nor plastic :p

What they are is well made, great to work with (whether or not you're modding), and quite fetching.

The scratch resistant and luminous quality quite appeals to me to be honest, Are their windows made to be scratch resistant also or is that not possible yet without going into insane price territory ?

Thanks for all the input guys. Of course with such a material like Acrylic our cases wont be for everyone.

To explain the price briefly: our materiel is German and/or Italian. Imported to the UK then distributed to us. Our fixing cubes our also manufactured in Germany. With this alone you'd be shocked at truly how much of the case we sell is in purely material.

You then have to account for our overheads, R&D, Warehouse rental (UK prices), packaging, our machine overheads and running costs, electric bill would blow your mind.. etc etc

We actually have a surprisingly low profit margin per case and I think what gets missed often is because large distributors sell our cases (Such as OCUK); people presume we have some cheap acrylic boxes made and have just slapped a stupidly high price on our cases.

With the above explained regardless of the price our cases are not for everyone. There's never going to be a perfect case for everyone. The ethos behind Parvum was to really push modders to make something special as well as let the average user with little modding/building knowledge make a really eye catching system. We very much wanted to accentuate the hardware inside the system, rather than be all about the outside.

The S2.0 is our first mass produced case and we've seen some really amazing builds in it so far. We love nothing more than getting as much feedback from people as possible. Rather than saying you don't get our cases we'd prefer to know what it is you don't like. Something constructive. If you had to make a case from ALL acrylic; how would you want it to look? We are forever upgrading our equipment and learning new skills so we very much look forward to future products :)

One of the upgrades on the S2.0 over the S1.0 was a more scratch-resistant window. Not that I've had any problems with my S1.0.

Improvements in materials for case windows using scratch resistant acrylic means that your Parvum stays looking fresh whilst keeping a glass like clarity.

From 1.0-2.0 we actually upgraded the clear window acrylic. 'Improvements in materials for case windows using scratch resistant acrylic means that your Parvum stays looking fresh whilst keeping a glass like clarity'.

One side of the 3mm clear acrylic has been treated to make it FAR stronger. When testing even with a car key it does really struggle to mark the coated side.

(another thing pushing our costs up, in fact it was a 40% increase in price over the old 3mm).
