It is but the prices for the minimum spec card people will want puts it out of reach for the average consumer. £900 for a good laptop, sure. £1700?

I just spent two and half grand on a laptop last week and it doesn't even have a 1080 inside and it's only a 14 inch as well. Guess I was robbed.

Its only a 1080p display  i would expect 4K for that price:p

4k in a gaming laptop? At least the cards @1080 the dual cards will be able to play new games well for quite a while, they're not upgradable rememeber ?:)

Bit of a bargain for some people if you ask me.
Have been looking a new card for the PC but might consider one of these. As I work away a lot, having a gaming laptop could actually save me money.Sit in hotel in the evenings eating kebabs (joke) gaming instead of out spending money in restaurants etc, or watching rubbish on the hotel TV. :).

And here Gentlemen, you have your 1080Ti :D

And by that I mean, that "1080ti" thread that was hanging around a few days ago where a few members thought Nvidia flew over a bunch of youtubers because of a new was being launched...must have been this new Mobile GPU range! :p

If I lived/worked away on a regular basis then I might be tempted with a laptop, but even so how much does one of these beasts weigh? I'd probably soon get bored of lugging it about and end up not using it anyway.

I doubt you are an average consumer.

Impressive, I paid 1.5k for a laptop 5 years ago and it is terrible note, not bad for streaming mind.... But yeah if I was still a traveler it would be epic. A lot of cash

Bad enough to cart about, does that include the power brick? What sort of battery life do you get from a beast like this when gaming?

review of Asus ROG G752VS: http://www.laptopmag.com/reviews/laptops/asus-g752v

Firestrike score using the 1070 in these is approx is 14k, my 980M does around 9.5k so the upgrade to the 1080 laptop part will be no joke.

these don't usually leave the wall, I can't imagine lugging around my Alienware 17 around. It sits at location b plugged in.

Weight is 3.8KG without power-brick. I get about 90 minutes-1.5 hours gaming depending on game, 3-4 hours in general usage. These new laptops look like they could do far better.

I buy mine on 2 year lease deal and then give it back, if an significant upgrade appears, I can upgrade early by paying a fee. The 1080 will be such a major upgrade I will consider this route on my 6 month old laptop as the price for buying an external gpu cage and a 1080 is going to be £800+.

I don't spend £2000 on a laptop unless its a macbook as its not for gaming and I will get at least 3 years out of one, when sale time comes then fleabay trade-in is decent.
