** PASCAL IS NOW MOBILE: DESKTOP PERFORMANCE NOW AVAILABLE IN NOTEBOOKS!!!

Im using a 7yr old laptop that still runs adobe quite smoothly to a point, but when i start editing large and or high res images then beefier gpu's really do help . However adobe products like lightroom do not even use gpu acceleration, so you are both right. but this is getting a bit off topic....

im not just creating visuals and rendered images in adobe, im using autocad, revvit, rhino and other 3d design software so im opting for the 1060 for its oomph! then plan to add an eGPU in the future for more demanding 3d rendering.

you are right 120hz is irrelevant for my design needs but I do plan on playing a lot of games on this laptop. I just want to see some reviews of both the 1080 and 4k screens

Bit of advice don't use Lightroom it's abysmal. You're better off going for Resolve Lite.

haha i actually dont use lightroom, just pointing out it doesnt use the GPU

Well I was sure CUDA was used in Lightroom...

Seems as though it does use CUDA! I thought it would be a bit odd if it didn't. I have an Adobe CC sub, but Lightroom is pretty mediocre. In fact moved over to the paid version of Resolve for editing and colour correction. Got the package free with my camera:)
