I don't know if that has been posted before but I've just stumbled across this video with a 980 Ti vs 1080 at the same clocks give or take a few mhz due to GPU boost, as you can see the 980 Ti is faster due to its cuda core advantage
what do you guys make of this? so with everyone mentioning drivers etc for the maxwell cards maxwell and pascal are so similar that I don't think drivers will matter as much as people make out with kepler and maxwell.

My mistake I've just realised my mistake that the Ti also has more rops but then the data compression Pascal has over Maxwell will benefit the 1080 take that of what you will :)

I wish AMD would get their arse into gear and release something proper, to give Nv an excuse to actually TRY.

I totally agree at least the 8gb 480 isn't appealing at all at stock it's a 970 on steroids overclock them both and they're both equal with the same performance:watt 28nm vs 14nm 2014 vs 2016 £275 vs £249 for the 480

Damn, when you look at it like that it looks really ****.

Tbh the 1060 isn't any better this gen has been a complete shambles yes the 1060 is a faster card than the 480 though again it's hardly any faster than an overclocked 970 at around 1450mhz+ the only thing it has going for it is the tdp which helps it a little

I don't get the love for the 480, it's a 970 that's got better dx12 performance for the same price and power consumption as the 970 two years ago.

Second hand 980Ti>*

pretty much this or a second hand 980 for around the same price clock it upto around 1500mhz and no 480 will touch it heck my 980 custom VBIOS done 1600 on the core which was insane! and roughly was only around 5-10% slower than my stock 980 Ti
