Pascal woth the wait or get titan x's

Can someone give me a rough guide to how pascal will be 10x faster than the current?? I really find the situation ambiguous , I mean a card with a 32gb ddr5 frame buffer sounds nuts! Any explanation?Is it worth the wait or get titan x;s?

I wouldn't believe the 10x faster thing, there's no way to tell yet as we don't know anything about the chip. Unless you need the extra 6GB on the Titan X, get a 980Ti instead, it's £300 less for a card with a far better cooler than the Titan X and more than likely be faster with overclocking.
 
Titan X is a nice card but I would go with a 980Ti. The difference is a few hundred ££ for similar performance depending on the RAM type and ASIC quality.

And add in that most of the Ti's are clocked higher and give slightly more fps over the Titan X, it makes sense to go Ti.

The Titan Blacks should still sell pretty well also.
 
If your 3 titans are still fast enough and sli issues aren't bothering you then I'd wait for the die shrink. If not go with the 980ti.
 
Ridiculous performance claims are usually things like performance per watt for some specific workload i.e. double precision compute.

Personally I'm holding out as there will be several architectural advantages with upcoming games.
 
hmm The 980ti is a beast no doubt, but I will defo need that higher frame buffer from the titan x and I am quite certain that a stock titan x beats a 980ti not just in cuda cores too.
Will take me a bit to get the money together, oh how I miss those days when you could buy components at a fraction of these prices.:(

From what I've seen there's "not that much" in it, especially for the price/performance.

Of course if money is no object than Titan X's all the way for now!

You have more than enough grunt at the moment imo to wait (unless you can get about £300ish each for the Blacks then get a pair of 980Ti's :) 3-way SLi doesn't have the best scaling...
 
nvidia are always full of cr*p about performance, they've been claiming since the first gerforce that they had pixar performance. I would expect maybe 2x performance on consumer cards since even if Pascal does do 10x compute performance they will gimp it to protect sales of their compute cards.
 
I'd avoid titan x for now, it's a great card but premium product like that are best to get early on, not when they are likely to be superceded in the next six months.

If your happy with your current performance wait, if you want a boost get two 980ti & enjoy them. I'm having great fun with SLI 980ti's @ 4k at the moment.
 
As the owner of a pair of Titan X cards I say that you should keep your Titan Blacks and wait for the next cards. Three Titan Blacks will push a 4K monitor just fine. Yes, you'll hit VRAM restrictions but not too badly. In much the same way, I'll likely skip the next generation of GPUs but get the generation after.
