Pass Plus

I did it but only because at my time of passing norwich union were doing 50% off for having it. The actual course was a waste of time, so only do it if there is a financial benefit.

I did mine at 17 and it was money well spent in my eyes. I did bad weather driving, a couple of hours in central London, night driving and country lanes for mine. Stuck things realy stuck with me from my course which I still apply in everyday driving.

I'm in the process of doing this, as my local council were giving grants so it only ended up costing me £25. Worth it just for the motorway experience imo.

Although when I rang up to get my insurance, they said it'd actually increase my premium. I'd had my license 3 months, but apparantly when you complete the pass plus it acts as a new license, meaning i'd have had it 0 months, pushing the price of the premium up by around £90 or so.

In the end I bought my insurance before i'd finished the pass plus course, so i'm not forking out any more, but i've still got the extra experience.

Im sorry but the insurance company is taking the mick out of you, there's no way that it acts like a new licence when you do it, it has nothing to do with your driving licence, its just a course developed by the DSA to improve driving post test.

Did think that but I bought my car before i've finished the Pass Plus anyway, so didn't really make much difference to me either way. :)
