Passed!

Well done! Saved yourself a lot of future hassle.

I blew my one chance (2 Majors, 1 Rider fault) last week so that's me boned by the new rules :( Pleasantly surprised really, as due to a screwup at the riding school my MOD 2 was my first time ever riding anything bigger than a 125 on the public roads. My Mod 1 certificate will now get downgraded to an A1 pass which is a real kick in the teeth as I did it on a cbf600.

Had a chat with the examiner after who basically told me (in his opinion) I'd be best to sack it off till next year when I turn 24, as I'd only have to sit the full A license tests at some point anyway.

I dunno, maybe I'll get a nicer 125 like a Varadero to work on my riding till then...

+1 for the ef-6n love mine got a 06 plate they just sound dirty :)

Nice riding position and pretty bullet proof, if you want to do long stretches at high speed get the faired version

Check out reviews and the er-6 comes out top in most

Congrats :). Some good advice in the thread already, so not much to add to it really. Just take heed of what others have said when it comes to getting your first big bike.

+2, Love my ER-6!

May get cheaper insurance quotes on the naked one, which is something I'd not taken into consideration when looking for my first bike.

The SV sounds way better than the ER6 :p V beats parallel twin every time (though the TRX850 sounds nice). The ER6 has a nicer riding position than the SV though.

Er-6n gets better reviews than the SV650 on most places I have looked

When I was looking at bikes it was a choice between the two and decided the er-6 made the better sense

Depends how much you're willing to spend.

The SV has a massive following (see sv650.org forums) and can provide good bang for buck as there's many round in the second hand market.

Oh yer I'm not taking anything away from the SV for me my bike is my transport so needed something with better reliability. I paid £2200 for mine.
