I am going to be breaking up my rig and selling it off peice by peice to fund a new Laptop.

Just wondering how I go about selling the OS. I had Windows 7 and I did a DL upgrade to Win 8.

Is it just a case of formatting the hard drive (which I will be doing to sell anyway) then passing on the Windows 8 product key to the buyer?

Cheers.

Yes I should think that will be fine, if I was you though then I would give the buyer
proof that its not a dodgy copy of Windows 8 by showing them a copy of the e-mail you
received when you downloaded the upgrade or something like that otherwise you might
not sell it very easy bud.

If it's a Retail version of Windows 7 then no problem.

If it's OEM then legally you can only sell it on with the motherboard as far as I know, if at all.

The Windows 8 license should not be an issue one way or another.
