So part of the cooler protrudes through the back of the card? I would mangle that in a week the way I grope around under the desk trying to plug cables in without dragging the case out into the room.

i agree but it is fanless which is a bonus in some cases, got some benchies for you guys taken from HARDOCP, this os a BFG version of the card btw

i have no idea, imo yes, but as gigabyte have made a passive one it cant need that much case airflow surely?

Fair enough. Hopefully it will be a 7600 GT type card (high performance low heat) rather than that passive 7950 GT XFX fireball

lmao, thinking of getting one for my V300B which has surpirsingly good cooling for a sff, those 3D mark scores are pretty good and would be quite an improvement on my 7600GT.

i agree it looks strainge but in a good way, the pionted bits buy the dvi connectors maybe a problem for people that dont like pulling there system out to plug stuff in, if anything itll be a severed hand and blood all over the wall complaint.

Yeah but what's the fastest passive card? (Excluding that weird 7900GT that needed good case airflow).

It was the 7600GT no? And the 8600GTS beats that, surely?

no, the fastest passivly cooled graphics card is the 7950GT 512MB

X1950Pro > 7900GT > 8600GTS > 7600GT > 8600GT.

Like I said, love passive cards but these 8600s better be cheap or they're pointless.

Not as far as I know but like I said if the 8800GTS isn't cheap it's kind of pointless.

By cheap I mean like £20 more than an X1950Pro for a passive model and £20 less than an X1950Pro for an actively cooled model. Otherwise there's absolutely no point in getting anything but an X1950Pro.

Edit: Google says PowerColor have done a passive X1950Pro, but I think it's PCI-E only.

Yeah, but for something like a Media Centre for someone who likes moderate gaming, these cards could be snapped up.

Also I agree 100%, if nVidia don't price this correctly they're not going to sell.

Aye, I'll be getting a passive 7100GS or passive 7300GT with HDMI for my HTPC. Not even considering anything as powerful as an X1950Pro, but I only plan to use it for movies and nothing else, I'm sure a gamer would love a passive X1950Pro (which is where the PowerColor PCI-E model comes in.)
