On a serious note I own an i7 980EE and at some point I will be getting a better cooler on it, as it is still a very fast CPU.

What are you using to get yours to 5.0ghz

Custom water.

It'll do 5.4GHz on H20 (Heavily cherry picked ES)

Its a 990X not a 980X ;)

I'd assumed your score was 11334 on your first post that stated 5GHz.

What u using cooling wise mate?

Also be interesting to run the memory benchmark as your timings are very slack at 2400MHz compared with what those sticks'll probably do at 2000MHz. Be interesting to see the difference between raw speed and timings :) :)

Never paid anything to benchmarks, the likes of setter, andyOcuk, me, etc, had a great time having a good laugh competing against each other using a couple of benchmarks that's all their fit for.

On my 3960X I use a custom water loop

On my 980X I am using a H70 - not very good

This is my 3960X running the memory bench using Corsair Doinator Platinums @2400mhz 9-11-11-25-1T 96 CPU @5.0ghz

I also have some of the same memory you are using - the Corsair Dominators @2000mhz 7-8-7-20 1T I use it on my X58 rigs but it won't go much above 2000mhz.

If you try the Platinums on your 990X you may get a nice surprise, using 3 sticks my 980X is able to reach well over 2300hmz easy which is not bad for the IMC and mobo which officially don't support anything near that.
