Okay, I'm worried about my passport because the picture on it looks so different to what I look like now, and to be honest I hate that old picture of me anyway.

I'm wondering if because of that reason I should just apply for a new passport, and say the existing one is damaged.

Also, what are the rules now with regards to pictures for passports. I've read throught the official site and appears you have to send two images of yourself and one of which has to be signed by myself, and the other from someone who has known me for at least two years - but problem is I don't really know anyone for two years.

I don't know what to do :/

I thought family members were not allowed to sign these kind of things, and had to be someone relativly independent like a police office, a barrister etc etc.

I doubt you have anything to worry about if you have a suspicious picture on your passport.

Unless you are a Muslim, if that's the case then prepare to face the full force of the rubber glove whilst making your way through customs.

Please stop being a moron for once in your life, im muslim and have a passport...yes bloody shocking isnt it??. But never once been made to feel that im being singled out when going through passport control and i do a hell of a lot of travelling business and leisure.

Btw my pic on my passport looks completely different to what i look like now, due to the fact that i used to have stubble and my hair was a different style but passport control have never pulled me up on it. If anything they usually say i look much in my passport than i do now..cheeky swines:p.

1) It was a joke, any excuse to use "full force of the rubber glove" in a sentence...

2) I said 'suspicious picture' so unless you've got a suspect passport I guess that doesn't apply to you...

3) Personal insults are against the rules

4) I'm glad you don't feel persecuted in this situation, don't you often tell us how you are persecuted in other activities?

Next time use a smiley, it makes far more sense and is easily understood..;)...see not hard is it??
Sorry but if the shoe fits then ill call you what i like:)
Thirdly, ive never moaned about being persecuted so kindly refrain from making more stupid comments ;). Or if you are going to make such stupid comments then back it up with some proof...thats the least you could do CBS;).

Your smileys don't make you come across as funny or friendly. In fact I have noticed you seem to hide behind them when you make nasty remarks.

So going by your flawed logic, that would mean everyone that uses smileys hides behind them right??. Sadly its called having a sense of humour ie if CBS had put a smiley at the end of his comments then i would take it with humour and a large dose of salt. But thanks for your insightful post there fella, now run along;).

Tbh CBS isnt that bad, he does make some pretty good posts and im always curious to see what he has to say so i dont really see a need to put him on ignore. Whereas a certain other poster sadly made it onto my ignore list due to a downright rude and personal post which i didnt appreciate but he thinks its because i have some moral high ground. Which i dont as it happens, its just a case that i cant be bothered to argue with a poster who exhibits such child like qualities and resorts to insults. I wont bother mentioning his name as im pretty sure people know who im talking about :).

You're a bit silly to pay for a new passport just because you don't like the photo! What difference does it possibly make? Loads of people have really old awful photos, don't think twice about it.

If you *did* want to apply for a new one, then if you said it was damaged you'd have to send them the remains - in which case they'd probably just send it back saying "don't be silly, it's fine". If you said it was lost, you'd have to sign a form saying so, they'd spend weeks "investigating", and so on, and you'd certainly need new references. Plus you'd be breaking the law by claiming it was lost when it wasn't.

So, in short, why bother?

I said you, I didn't say everybody. Notice the last sentence in the above quote. It is a lesser example of exactly what I mean. Should I laugh and smile now you have added that wink? Is that the intention of you putting it there? No it isn't. You just proved exactly what I said about you.

when you renew a passport, you don't need to get the photo countersigned if it looks enough like your last one. As long as they can tell it's the same person, you'll be ok.

i had same problem about a year ago, my photo had changed so much that i had to get it countersigned and such, and since i didnt realy know any1 outside of family, i went do to the doctor that im with (even though i havnt been to him in within 2 years) and he said he will countersign as im his patient and ive been registered with him for over 2 years. he did say he does countersigning a lot as quite a few ppl have the problem of not being able to find anyone to countersign for them. the only downside though was he charged £5 to countersign :(

It'll cost ya £66 btw, same price if you renew or get a new one, takes about 3 weeks from sending the forms. If you want it quicker, you can go to the post office or get an appointment but it'll cost ya more. You need to get a countersignature if the previous photo looks way different.

I find it bizarre that you're 23 and you don't know anybody outside your family for more than 2 years.

Unless of course you're a bit of a nomad and frequently move location. :)
