My partner wants to taker her Grandad to Ireland for 2 days in August but he does not have a passport. Its an easy jet flight to Belfast from Newcastle, we have been told that a standard photo ID will suffice, is this true? If so where do you get them, or is a full passport needed?

Thanks

I go over to belfast quite a lot.
Pretty sure all you can have is a driving license (provisional or full) passport or MoD ID.

Further search allows this to be stolen from another forum
