Hey all,

I am going to Lanzarote on October the 9th this year.

I went to send the form away for my 1st passport the other week but I was told my small birth cert was good enough and I would have to apply for another one. So that has just arrived and I am ready to send my form off today.

So baring in mind I am due to go away in 6 weeks should I not be worrying about getting it back in time aslong as I use the Post Office Check & Send system as they 2 weeks but its not guranteed.

Has anyone else used this system recently and how long did it take?

Thanks, Sam

It can take upto six weeks for your first passport, so you might be cutting it fine.

I sent mine off three weeks ago, and I'm still waiting :/

Great!

Nothing like making me worry more.

Well Its 6 weeks yesterday I go on holiday so best just hope it comes before then

You can apply in person and get one there and then. Take a book to read though - you'll be waiting around for ages.

I have just spoke to the passport office and they say the quickest way would be to drop my form off at the office, wait 6 days and I will have to probably get an interview. They said this way it will only take a max of 2 weeks.

So I am going to do that today.

Isn't there a way to rush a passport, it means u going to the passport office in london iirc.

They have local passport offices too so you don't have to go to London - the one for NW England is in Liverpool for example. My sister had to go once :p

I got my passport through in about 3-4 weeks earlier this year. Its post-season for applications tbh so it shouldnt be too bad.
