Password stopped working on Win8

For whatever reason I've came home and booted up my pc, greeted by the usual login info, putting in my password its saying its incorrect.

Tried the same login on my surface and logged in fine, anyone know why this would be happening?

Can sign into everything else using the password, even off line it doesn't let me use the password I have used the first day of using it, pretty damn poor this.

Anyone any ideas?
I left my PC off all last night, and still it told me the password was wrong when I tried it again this morning.

My Surface was logging in fine, was able to go and access my profile details ( full access to account info using the same password), and COULD change it via the Surface if I have to, but it seems the account emails etc is all fine on my Surface and email is still coming in fine etc under the same password, so it JUST seems to be my main PC rig, which seems very strange.

Not sure if it's even possible but has the keyboard input language been changed?

I cannot see how I could have even done this, and theirs no characters that would be involved in my password, the keystrokes are inputting okay, but do have another keyboard to try with, I cant get my head around how this can even happen.

Have been also able to log into my email via work, so its not a account issue.

On the Welcome Screen is there a Keyboard Layout button? (little button with two letters for the selected layout).

If not then maybe it is the actual keyboard which is the problem.

Okay, got home an tried a wired USB keyboard, and it worked, for whatever reason, then went and opened Word, and typed my password in with my regular keyboard, and it inputted fine, restarted using the normal keyboard, and its working, I have NO clue what on earth could have caused this hiccup!

lol...I wish..I have never punched in my password so many times so carefully over checking everything, that has to be the most "random" thing to happen on a PC to me.

Try logging in as an administrator and do a system restore to a time your password was working.
