I just bought a mobo off MM, the AM3 socket has got some paste in the pin holes (only 2), what do you suggest I do? Get a needle and clean it out or send it back... I've just bought a new 1055T and don't particularly want to fry it out of the box.

Thanks

give the surface of the socket a good rub with a cloth. Thermal paste in the socket is unlikely to cause any issues you just want to make sure that there is not enough paste in the socket to short one pin to the next.

If we were talking about Intel then this could be a major issue but i've seen AMD sockets in terrible states before that still work perfectly.
