Everytime I paste into Word 2007, I just want it to be as unformatted text and not use any of the formatting which was copied. At the moment, every time I paste in, I use the Paste Special command. Is there a way of configuring Word 2007 so that any pasting in done is just as unformatted text?

Thanks

Click the orb, go to options, then click advanced.

Under "Cut, Copy & Paste" where it says "Pasting from other programs" choose "Keep Text Only".

There should be an option in preferences or options. I'm using 2010 but it should look something like this:

This is definately one method. I use two different methods:

1) When pasting into Word, there is a small option button that will show up after the text you pasted. Click this and select "Keep text only", or

2) The one I use most frequently: paste into Notepad first to blow away any formatting options, then copy/paste that into Word.

This.

Every version of word since Office 97, seems to make the most simple tasks even more difficult than the previous version. Does anybody else actually loath using Word?

I've always disliked formatting in word. It has a habit of deciding what you want and making you jump through loops to not do what it wants too.

I remember having a nightmare doing an essay that had to have a set type of bulletinings and word just wouldn't stop changing it to the 'right way'.

asim18 and Temi_D - Thanks very much guys, that's what I was looking for.

Thanks for the other responses too. I was going via Notepad but this gets inconvenient when you have a lot of copying and pasting to do.

Rgds
