Hi

Im currently in the process of building a new rig for gaming based on a E6320 / E6600 2gb DDR2 6400 RAM plus a BFG 8800 gts 320mb but ive used my budget up so im gonna have to use my old Seagate barracuda 7200 160gb PATA ( IDE ) drive , will i notice a significant performance drop with this drive over the SATA equivalent ?

Thanks in advance :)

Only a very slight difference for overal use, the new 7200.10 drives are pretty quick so file transfers would be faster with the newer drives, if your old seagate only has 2mb cache you would notice a slight performance increase when using the new 8/16mb cache drives in windows.
