Patch x64 XP for Visual Styles?

hi, how the heck can i get the 64 bit version of xp to use 3rd party themes?

ive tried replacing uxtheme.dll with a one of the net to allow custom themes, which is 213kb, but everytime i do that, the replaced uxtheme.dll reverts back to the original one!

i dont fancy paying for window blinds neither, just a way to patch these dam system files
