Path of Exile 2

Finding it so boring tbh - im out for now, pity Last Epoch delayed their big update.
Its a great game, also agree about Riftbreaker both superb games and massively underrated.

I played at release of EA to maps.. and I liked it a lot. Then people starting figuring out all the zoom zoom build and then it got pointless to me. That is not my kind of ARPG. I've just started a huntress yesterday and so fare I like the tempo. I havent reached very far as I have had to combat a ton of DCs but the gameplay is suiting me for the moment. I hope they stick to the slower phase and leave the zoom zoom for PoE1

oh yeah, play however you like. I think for a good % of players though they want to finish the endgame content within about 2 weeks, then it allows them to move on to other games. If the campaign is so hard it takes avg players 20+ hours to finish, there's no way of doing this, at that point the game just isn't on the same reward vs time path as the other arpgs out there

They've tried to make a Dark Souls-esque ARPG loot game, that's also slow, tedious, unrewarding, miserable and punishing but you can't have all that and have a power fantasy as well.

Oof, just to rub salt in there's a broken interaction with the new tablet/towers system and Ritual.

You can get a unique tablet that allows infinite re-rolls of ritual favours, run that with a few tablets that reduce re-roll cost to zero and defer costs to much lower levels and you can sit there as long as you like re-rolling and deferring the most expensive things.

Economy will be busted in no time.

*Edit*
You can actually make defer costs 0 as well, so it's just infinite free items, and people having been doing this for days already. So the worst patch they've ever delivered along with the most broken, economy & league destroying exploit we've ever seen.

I must be a minority here as I still love it, I do think it needs improving & stuff adding etc, which they are doing. But also it is still EA, which I keep forgetting. This is easily the most hours I've ever sunk into an EA title.

Uninstalled it last night, whatever theyre trying to do is not for me, roll on the 17th..

In my personal opinion this is the most disappointing release since anthem

They should have just improved upon POE1, this obsession with "meaningful combat" is just dumb, and it doesn't fit the Grinder ARPG profile, people weaned on POE are not coming back league after league multiple times to play a slow-paced tedium sumilator, especially with a campiagn that will go on forever.

It would depend upon what the improvements were, if it had been too much like PoE1 in terms of PoE1's gameplay, I quite likely wouldnt have even played PoE2, I'm one of those ARPG'ers who actually thinks that Grim Dawn is better than PoE1 but I understand that I am not really the demographic that PoE1 is aimed at, which is perhaps why I am still enjoying PoE2

I don't really think poe2 and grim dawn are similar at all apart from a bit of a darker theme maybe. You get fast in GD fairly early with several movement mechanics. Most builds are killing packs of mobs fairly easily. Way more loot, easier progression etc. GD feels very comfy to play just now

Yeah they arent similar, Grim Dawn is probably my favourite ARPG currently, I much prefer it over PoE, Diablo, Last Epoch etc. I'm hoping that Titan Quest 2 later this year can rival Grim Dawn in my rankings

anyone watching the ziz dev stream? man Jonathan seems a bit out of touch with how people play
The plus side is that the interview seems to have done some good, the latest upcoming patch "corrects" some of the issues Ziz raised, with more to come in subsequent updates apparently

yeah I'm sure they will turn it around eventually. Bit of a baptism of fire for him really after the mainly positive feedback from 0.1

Ive got a monk ice strike build on level 79 and a sorcerer build on level 69. I really like the game but the lastest patch is awful. It keeps disconnecting me. The endgame mapping does seem a little less grindy, and it seems to point you in right direction a bit better and gives quests.

The last thing this game needs is slower levelling though and my monk is definetly nerfed.

I've been trying the Huntress and find it quite sluggish going, although I doubt I'm playing the class correctly :D

Plus the disconnects - every 30mins or so are very annoying with lost progress and items.

Switched to the Amsterdam server last night, seemed to fix the disconnects.

Also playing the huntress, got to level 30 and it's starting to click a little now :D I do miss my warrior though so may have to start another in the new league, and try the new ascendancy out.

I've just come back to this and started up with a witch minion build. I just discovered the skeletal snipers have a gas arrow skill, I went through 3/4 of the first act before I figured it out!
