I never said he was a better footballer than Keane.

But he is close and I would say has more to his game.

Keane is a cracking footballer. No denying that.

It's just a shame he's a physco.

Apologies Toekiller. Yup Gerrard is a great player but Keane
has massive experience on his side too. Keane is a great
leader too, something Gerrard will have to learn.

I was just looking at Man Utd's midfield and couldn't see
who he would replace.

Giggs/Keane/Scholes(or Veron)/Beckham. I'm biased but
I don't think there is a better midfield in the whole of Europe
(with the obvious exception of Real Madrid

).

Man U have more than 5 people however in midfield to pick from...& Butt would easily wave bye bye, he would definately challenge for Scholes/Veron's position, on form he could replace Becks & would walk into Keane's position as Keane is often suspended so couldn't challenge him

Man U's midfield is possibly the best there is (excluding Madrid's

) but Gerrard is a top player & to say he wouldn't get a place on a team is being a bit blinkered imo

I am not saying he would automatically take another players place, but he is fully capable of doing so & even if he didn't he would be challenging for it which is what any good manager wants.

The way you say 'even' implies that you think Veron is better than Butt, which is debatable

Yeah Veron is more skilled but he could learn a lot from Butt's workrate.

He's better at looking like a gringo pirate but thats about it

. Skills wise they are pretty similar but Gerard actually puts effort into his game so would get the nod from me.

Veron is probably the most skillful player in the premiership.
Gerrard is more your Butt/Keane type player, workmanlike.
