I'm building a PC for a friend, and attempting to keep the costs down.
The PC is literally a replacement for an Windows XP accounting machine, essentially just excel and other office work. Very potentially web browsing.
Now I have an i5 3570k, a Maximum IV Gene-Z/Gen 3 mobo and the memory in the subject title. But it's Tri-Channel stuff.
I cant imagine the motherboard will allow me to run the tri channel memory in dual channel, but can you imagine there being much performance hit running the memory in single channel? Considering the PCs use, and if by some miracle I am able to run 2 sticks in dual channel, would you recommend that over 3 sticks in single?
