Paul Gascoigne

The yellow card incident was hilarious, shocking he got booked for it!
He really played up to the rangers fans and was loved for it. Such a special player for us.

My dad and a few other people told me that at the time he moved to Spurs, he supposedly insisted in a clause being put into his deal to allow him to join Liverpool if we came in for him. Not sure whether it was true but he was on the radio not long ago talking about how Liverpool were the team he wanted to join but we couldn't afford to sign him and Rush in the same year and asked him to wait a season but he couldn't.

A lot of people talk about how things may have been different had he not gone to London but I'm not sure it would have made any difference where he ended up. Even in Italy, where they were far more advanced when it came to drink and diet, he was the same.

Not so much the location as the manager, Fergie would have been the best man for controlling him. May probably have failed seeing Gazza over the years but he is someone I would put my trust in to give it the best shot.

He was superb and was a true world class footballer.

The 1990 World Cup was his finest moment imo, best player in the tournament by a mile

The National team have still yet to find a player that could dribble and take players on like he used to (Infact there hasnt been a player since for England)

In todays transfer market,he would be worth tens of millions im sure.

always remember the euro96 goal broke my heart as a Scotland fan but as a rangers fan you couldnt help but feel proud that he was one of our players.

really think we(rangers fans) saw the best he had to offer scored something like 30 goals for us and really was a touch of class.

annoys me that no one has looked out for him since he left the game, I honestly wish Walter Smith or someone who knew him would have taken/would take him on as a coach. as i honestly think he'd be an asset to any club. The mans a legend and you can only hope someone offers him a helping hand to get him past his troubles

the guy was a total **** at rangers, he constantly made public sectarian jibes

Making me really sad watching this, never saw him play and can hardly remember anything about him but still seeing what he has gone through is heartbreaking :(

Nice to see Paul last night playing football with the kids and enjoying what does so well but sad to the effects that years of abuse has had on him. I was a little upset about his "fiver" comment towards his wife but then I guess his already said what needed saying.

I personally blame two individuals for his demise, who just tagged on to his fame and dumped him the first sight of trouble.. It's only my perception however.

Which is of course exactly why the rangers fans loved the laughable idiotic muppet that was Gazza, still a genius on a football pitch still saddens me that we could have him and Matt Le Tissier in the same team but successive managers decided we didin't need the two most talented and flamboyant players of their generation together!
