Paul Pogba

So mad Fergie couldn't keep him. SAF's ego gets the best of him at times. He has put up with Clev's lifestyle but dismissed Pogba for his?
 
I love this thread, it's just full of random guesswork as to why it didn't work out.

When quizzed Fergie said as far as he was concerned the deal was done long ago for Pogba to go to Juventus.

Also reports around the time from what I remember also said we offered Pogba more money, but that we wouldn't pay off his agent.

Great thread, though. Keep it up...

Did Fergie play Pogba, give him starts or important games, no, did Juve tell him they would, yes, because what team wouldn't tell him that. if Fergie in negotiations told him he'd play an important part, that is fine, Juve had no chance to not play him and lose his trust, Fergie didn't give Pogba a real chance when he DID have the chance.

So you've got one guy, at the club you are currently at, not playing you but telling you he will, said the same about Berbatov. Another club says they'll play you, but you have no indication they won't, also from the wage on offer you can assume they are fairly serious. 5k a week and a promise of "you'll play loads" doesn't hold a huge amount of weight in a team full of people making 40k+ a week, a 40-50k a week offer and the same promise holds a lot more weight.

This isn't guesswork, its common sense.

If you were at work and your boss told you he trusted you and would give you a chance, but in reality never actually did give you a chance.... you wouldn't think the same?

The only relevance even mentioning Berbatov is that he's at an age where players the age of Pogba phase him out so Berbatov's situation is completely irrelevant to any young player

If I was 19 and the end game was that I would replace someone 15 years older than me I wouldn't be stupid enough to think that would happen over night. I guess you and Pogba are though?
 
To be fair to Pogba, I wouldnt sign a contract if, when the club I was at had no recognised senior midfielders to pick for a league game, the manager picked a right back and a player so laughably out of form and past it that he was becoming an embarrassment to the club instead rather than play me.

Or put me on as a sub in games where we were out of sight.
Or against cannon fodder.
Or on the bench at all.
At that point I would have told him to shove his contract offer up his arse as well.
