I have signed up for paypal, which is all well and working except i havent got verified. But some things, such as buying Gmod10 off steam, i need to be verified. All i have to do is 'set up bank funding' but im 15, thick and dont know what this means. Do i just put the same account as my card in this? Thats Halifax, with a visa electron card? or is it something different. And i think i need to do this as well to properly sell stuff on ebay.

Thanks

Tom

You need to go thru the verfication process on paypal. Log in to your account and follow the links.

Excuse the hijack, but i'm just getting started on ebay/paypal too. Do most sellers have their paypal accounts verified? I'm moving soon and am going to attempt to sell a fair amount of bits and pieces, is it worth my while getting verified for this?

To get verified isn't that hard, you sign up for it, Paypal transfers 2 small amounts to your account, you then look at your statement and go to the paypal site.
Then just put in those two amounts when prompted and your all set.
I got verified cause I sell quite a bit on ebay.

I had to get verified too, it was a real pain.

In addition to the bank transfers I had to verify my billing address [which is not my home address]. I had to tell PayPal to call me on the billing address landline, the automated system would read a code to me over the phone which I would then enter on the site.

Very annoying and it took me a year to be bothered to do it, but paying for stuff over eBay is less convenient any other way.

Seriously,,,Id read up on the internet about Paypal before going through it and getting verified. You wave a lot of rights using paypal, up to you of course.

but check out some websites like paypalsucks. There are some horror stories out there.

When you joined Paypal you waived a lot of your rights when you clicked "Okay" but didn't read the terms and conditions. No one reads them, we all know that. and so do Paypal,

Of course this will open a can of worms now but just saying it from my stand point and others that I know of.

Before or after your trip to Soho? ;)

LLBDTiberio It's changed slightly now, now they take £1 from your account, and in your statement it shows up as Paypal: somenumber, you have to enter the number into PayPal to be verified. The £1 then gets credited to your account
