- Debit card and/or
- Credit Card

3.4% + Fixed Fee (see table below)

thats all i care about and it seems its still free... so. meh

Christ, so if you use a credit or debit card to fund a purchase they'll charge you 3.4% for the privelage.

What with eBay's fees rising through the roof I wonder why people bother. I certainly won't anymore.

I have both my bank and card connected with PayPal but surely I can just switch over to avoid the fees?

I've never liked the idea of Paypal having my bank details, as they can withdraw funds without my permission is someone does a claim against me.

I've done all payments using just my card, which will now force me to pay an additional 3.4% or give them access to my bank account.

Could not agree more mate and for this reason alone I will stop using it.

erm, no the fee is only paid by one party in the transaction - either the seller in a transaction or the sender in the case of a send money.

The changes effect the cross border fees (ie the fee charged for taking a payment from a different country) and the currency exchange fee (ie how much it costs to change $ to £)

There are some other business fee changes but nothing that would effect most people.

So once again it's a case of headline-chaos and nothing more :p

eBay is fine as is PayPal for normal buyers.

Sweet, so I'm unaffected. As long as it's free for buying stuff through websites. Then I'll use it for ease of use.

So the payment I make to my website host (in the USA) won't be charged, and they will foot the extra 3.4%?
