Welll just wanted to rant to some one and who better than the internet.

Went into my paypal account on thursday to check on a clearing amount for my Rapidshare and a ebay payment. Nice all cleared, check history - Andrew Swales - [email protected] - has tried to take 3 payments of $500.00 out of my account. Now all of them say either cancelled or refussed. With one saying returned. I think phew that was close, so I raise a trouble ticket thing with them and get my account suspended untill dealt with by them.

So I goes into my bank account on saturday morning to check my balance, going shopping with the misses, to see a nice some of £255.44 taken out of my account by paypal!! So I get on the blower to paypal, who advises it will be back in as soon as possible ( still not got it yet, will be calling them tomorrow again!).

Sent them a few emails etc aswell.

Now Saturday night I try and access msn *password incorrect* erm what the hell!! So I get on to MSN support they ask me for loads of secuirty detials and by Sunday I was back on to MSN. With my username changed to owned by Thec0re.net!

Just wanted to give you guys a head up to check your paypal accounts, as I am normally very careful of what I am on, downloading etc etc.

I just feel done over!

I got done for £1800 over christmas by some muppet who decided to transfer the cash to his real account :rolleyes:

Got the cash back via paypal and got my bank to cancel any paypal DD's from my account.

I thought the situation was resolved but now paypal want me to pay them the money as they have not been able to recover it from the thief and they are now sending me e-mails everyday

Thanks, gives me more confidence I will get it back. They have cancelled all the payments don't know how it even came out the bank tbh.
 
I'm an eBay seller and I use PayPal all the time but I still don't have confidence in it, I'm not happy until the money is in my Bank Account. I always make payments using my card through paypal when possible, even though they insist I'm missing out on some benefits, I trust Visa more than PayPal if anything goes wrong. They have more control over the money if you let them deal with it, that's why there is no option to set card payments as the default method.
 
Bad luck :( Sounds like they managed to get into your email and extracted your PayPal details from there. Was your secret question guessable? This is why I have my own domain rather than using webmail for anything important these days.

And that Ownage Designs thing is possibly the most pathetic website I've ever seen. If that's his best shot at earning money legitimately, I'm not surprised that he has to resort to dodgy stuff!
 
sounds like your PayPal and MSN passwords were the same, or at least your "secret question" wasn't all that secure.

Not really PayPal's fault if you effectivly let someone into your account, but they should try and help you claw it all back. just make sure you change your password on everything, and keep them different for your more important stuff like online banking, primany e-mail, PayPal / eBay and other shops that store your card details....
 
I have changed every password now. Just off the phone to them and supposidly it was never logged this had happened and they will get back in touch with me within 3-5 days then the money could take another 7-8days to appear on paypal and then another 7-8 days onto the bank.

I tried to explain to him that I needed it back into my bank asap, as am due to get bank charges soon. No sir I am going to be Frank that will not happen *nigerian accent*.

So annoyed.

the 7-8 days limits are down to bank transfer times, nothing anyone can do about that i'm afraid.(yet, instant bank transfers are supposed to be coming in soon...)

Unbelievably poor, there's no way I would even spit on that website, let alone buy anything from it.
