Paypal...Rant!

I thought paypal / ebay was meant to be a safe way to buy things through?

I paid for some ABS sensors from my mondeo from a guy who was breaking. He didnt send them for ages, nor did he reply to any emails. Eventually i recieved them and they were broke / snapped. EXACTLY how mine were hence why i needed to buy some new ones.

I opened up a despute with paypal and ebay. Told them what happened etc etc. Waited for 30 days to get a reply saying that because the seller could provide a postage tracking number he won the case.

I was fuming, the despute wasnt the fact he hadnt sent them, it was he had sent damaged goods! All they had to say was they have no further action to take and i should take it up with the seller.

Now, its been over 2 months. Should i try and contact the seller asking for my money back AGAIN?

This is shocking, the whole thing with ebay & paypal is for safer purchasing. Well this is a joke, and where do i stand?

The amount in question is £40, no i know its not a massive amount, however i had to go and buy some new ones, so this £40 could have gone a good way towards the cost.

Anyone have any suggestions / advice?

It sounds like you maybe opened a "item not received" dispute, rather than an "item significantly not as described". It's a bit late now I'd think, but you could try claiming via postal insurance?
 
Paypal are useless - They wouldnt refund me on something i sent back standard delivery as the postage was more than the refund.

They are loosing loads of customers.
 
On both disputes I opened through paypal for ebay items (not opened through ebay) I was given favour and won both disputes with a full refund. on the first dispute I had to send the item back to the seller who failed to respond and paypal gave me *** refund once return was confirmed, on the second instance I kept both the refund and the goods as it was broken so in my case paypal have been great BUT eBay have been crap in the past when sellers/buyers left neg feedback for no reason and ebay refused to remove them because they did not contain any abuse or anything that went against policy...
 
Ebay feedback is a complete and utter joke. Not only can sellers not leave feedback now but a buyer can not pay for an item, get an unpaid item strike, you get your FVF back YET THEY CAN STILL LEAVE A NEG FOR YOU!!

Utterly insane.
 
On the other hand.. I got skanked by Paypal when I sold someone a CPU that was in full working perfect condition. He managed to bend the pins or said he did. Wouldn't supply me with a photo of the damage, opened a dispute on Paypal. Paypal gave him the money back out of my account and he hasn't sent me the CPU back! :(
