I'm having a problem with the PayPAl shopping cart on my site. My account type is "IE Business" (Irish)

The first step to order items is to enter your country, credit card details and billing address. The second page then asks for your shipping address but the "country" bit reverts back to Ireland and it doesn't allow the customer to change it

Does anyone know why this is? Do I have to have a different type of account to be able to sell to other countries?

Thanks.

i have a UK account and it does the exact same thing to me..the postage address can only be UK! best option is to contact paypal and ask them

It may be:

a) u have to use the version that you pay for monthly to be able to change the postage country

b) the buyer has to have a paypal account (that way the buyer can select the postage address on their paypal account

c) could just be a problem they have overlooked!

although i'm not too sure about any of these!!!

good luck and plz post what paypal say if you contact them/how u resolved it.

Lad.

EDIT: i just thought...it might have been done on purpose, as if you are selling to someone out of the country, it would cost you more to post the item, but paypal does not give the option to have different postage costs for different countries! so it's probably just because of that!
maybe this is a feature of "a)" that i talked about above!

Thanks for the post. Good to know I'm know alone. I've emailed PayPal so I let you know what the outcome is :)

I've emailed PayPal twice and they still haven't responded.. I don't really expect to get one either

DOES ANYONE ELSE KNOW WHY THIS IS HAPPENING?! Please help! I can't find ANYTHING on the internet.

Sorry to threadjack but...
I'm thinking of using the paypal shopping cart, and was wondering if you can sell downloads?

yhack:
you can use it to sell anything. but you just need to sort out how you will give then access to the downloads page, or link. What you can do is make button for the download, and ask then to specify a username and e-mail address which can be incorporated into each button, (use the button factory) and then manually e-mail them with the link to the downloads section and their password after you have set it up for them.

I will contact them myself and see what i can find out.

I rang PayPal in the UK and after being on hold for 25 mins, I got though to a guy who listened to what I said, told me that he would "umm, need to clarify the issue" and then promptly cut me off!

Did you have any joy with them?

Bump.

Has anyone any ideas? After several more emails, PayPal support have failed to tell me what the problem is. :( Doing my head in.
