Hi guys,

I sent a payment through paypal for an item. Unfortunately the email address was not valid (he changed his email address). So I was able to cancel payment and send it to the right address. I picked up the laptop from his house. Nice guy and I was on my way.

Now I've looked at my bank account and it has taken out 2 sums of the total payment which I can probably expect seeing that I sent two payments despite one of them being cancelled. Can anyone confirm this and how long can I expect from one of them to be returned into my account?

Isn't it amazing how such organisations can make a computerised deduction from your account in nanoseconds, and it takes them a week to put it back.

Can anyone confirm that it actually takes out the money for both transactions?

It would have taken the money out for the first one as soon as you sent the payment on PayPal...now you've cancelled it the money should re-appear in your account in a few days.
