Payraise.. how much do you expect? how much did you get?

Cited the increase in NI as the reason it's so low this year - of course nobody saw that coming.

We've been told to cut I think 3 extra people loose from the Christmas temps due to it, who'd otherwise have been offered new contracts, also seems to be a significant factor behind axing any Christmas bonuses for regular staff this year.

For the first time in 25 years, 0% as I resigned with no Job to goto! Am taking a few months off and will either spin up my own business and be a contractor or find a new role.

Awful. Are you in an industry where the competition can poach you?

My DB pension went up 2.7%, my state pension according to Sir Keir will be a 4.2% uplift allegedly. I'm just about meeting inflation head on and keeping the heating on.

Then you get other places like in my island where even if someone earns 300k they only pay 20% tax

Which i feel is one the huge reasons why the island is in such a mess with crazy house & rent prices
There's only 1 house for sale on Rightmove, but compared to where I live, it doesn't seem like a bad price. Especially considering it's a tax haven.

EDIT - just realised this is Alderney!

This is on Guernsey and still a similar price to SE England.

2.5%. Same as last year I think. Not great, but it's better than nothing. That's a cost of living bump, the same for everyone in the team - nothing performance related.

Looking at job adverts for similar roles, I'm in a good position, so I'm not going to grumble.

Just had my Job re-banding come back and we got it. Going up one band to match the other hospital on our health board. Got to work out the backpay etc but happy to have it all finished.

We are just going through our annual appraisal process at the moment and I'm fighting to get the guys on my team the maximum bonus possible and promotions. Hopefully I'll get the same an be elevated to director level. Fingers crossed!

1.5% might just about buy the family a McDonald's a month
Rubbish but to be expected considering all of the increased taxes coming in for employers

Just announced - 5.5% - private sector education. They had to match the last public sector settlement as we were starting to hemorrhage staff to them.

Another year of no pay rise, got a bonus for the first time although it wasn't as big as some were expecting/hoping (2% or something), but potential pay rise coming in a couple of months and a potential promotion before then, which if neither happen will definitely result in changing jobs (or at least trying to!)

Giving the bare minimum and no bonuses, no performance rewards etc seems silly tbh. I know most companies just do that now, but it also means there is no incentive for me to give them more than the bare minimum, or stay long term if I find better offers. Employers don't seem to grasp that these things work both ways..

People get attached to their jobs and put up with crap pay, but you should always be on the lookout. Only way to get a real pay rise these days is to jump ship.

Agreed. We were moved into payment bands a few years back and my pay already exceeded the top of the role above me. I have no interest in going into that role, so I basically know I'm never going to get a big pay bump at this company.

Not very motivating as you say, but I'm fortunate in that my pay is decent and the role isn't stressful, so I'm happy enough just cracking on and not worrying about performance reviews and all that guff.

was wondering why the company I work for shares was dropping last week even after beating the market forecast for results, only to find out today that most people at work was given free shares.... just over £500 pounds worth at market prices.

The usally thing appies, we can't cash them in for 2 years and if we leave during that period we forfeit them.. but if we keep hold of them for the two years they become tax and NI free. Hopefully this won't effect my payraise or bonus this year.

Hoping for a 3% raise and 4K bonus this year... thou my attendance has been dreadful with my own and my mother's health issues.

Banking (/ducks from the rotten veg being thrown) - 3.6% this year, which is down on last year, but managed a decent bonus.

TBH I am paid well and not like anything I would earn in another sector, so I always feel blessed for what I get. I mean, I have worked bloody hard to get to where I am, but even so I see people in public sector with hugely lower salaries for similar workloads (although they will be getting much better pension). I was born about 10 years too late to be in the industry when the boomers had it best of both worlds - They are now all retiring at 55 with £2mil+ pension pots. It's tragic.

Pay rise discussion at my job again, had the mandatory BS chat with the boss, she's pleased says i should get more "involved" in creative input.
Maybe i will. We do a lot of Themed Days a the restaurant and maybe its time to introduce the good citizens of Lulea and Boden to Shepards pie and Sausage rolls chips and beans :P
I really don't fancy being the one to make 150 sausage rolls.
Spent most of last year feeling under the sword of Damocles again cost cutting and reorganisation always on the cards.

Anyway my pay rise will be in line with the Union recommendations.. (<4% for sure) the effects of Inflation is still BS in Sweden so whatever i get it'll just disappear.
We got a huge bonus to "uncomfortable" hours early starts, Weekends and Bank holidays... Really pays good to work weekends now double bubble!
