PB+J whats your view

Peanut butter and jam is not complete without sliced banana. The breakfast sandwich is amazing.

Kudos to anyone who can tell me which magazine included a review of the mighty breakfast sandwich. Bonus points for telling me who reviewed it.

I dont do fruit in sandwiches (Banana,Apple,Jam) all grim

So no its filth and probably why your average yank is overweight

PB and jam sandwiches are nice. I only tried them for the first time when I was about 18 after an American friend of mine convinced me to give them a go. Don't eat them much any more as they tend to make me feel a bit sick. They're definitely nicer than PB on it's own though.

Where has this myth that pb+j is more fattening that any other type of sandwich come from or rather thats its very fattening in the first place?

Peanut butter has a huge amount of fat in it. Add in some jam and you're looking at a lot of calories.

Never mind the banana I advised earlier. :)

Yeah, it's huge over here in the States. I'd never tried it until I met my wife (an American) and she "forced" me. I was surprised to find it was actually delicious! In the staff room where I work there's often huge tubs of PB, massive jars of "jelly" and stacks of bread ready to go :)

Of course, they all think we're insane for eating beans on toast. Some of the looks I've had when I've mentioned it's a popular meal in the UK...

I guess it depends how much you spread on your bread.

"It's peanut butter jelly time!!"

I was waiting for someone to comment on it, lol.
There used to be a while site for it with different dances and things, some a bit rude, lol but it seems to have been taken over :(

I had a peanut butter and jam sandwich today though, before I even noticed this thread :D

Invented by some members of another board I frequent, and it was even featured on Family Guy once too.

Sorry, that should have read "But then I do love it. American for 3 years." Nah not really, that extra special is N is really there to entrap and stupefy the confused grammatical masters into underpinning my grasp of the English language via a common ailment called cackjokeritist.

Great answer :p

Cant go wrong with a PB + J sandwhich. I was brought up on the stuff and love it. Grape is my favorite Jelly but I have not found any over here. Strawberry or raspberry are ok though.

Hney is good too as is, chocolate spread or marshmello spread (very sweet though)
