Good recommend on the power meter. I've got a cheapo off amazon - folding on ivy with monitor on is roughly 240 watts, 165 kw/h, 11p per kw/h, equals £18.15 no wait that's not right :)
can't really be bothered to work it out as I don't pay it haha :)

0.24 kW * 24 hours * £0.11 = 63 p/day = £231.26 / year.
