Sorry, I'm having a little bit of trouble with your sentence here. Do you mean that blackboards were removed because some people thought that it was racist to have a blackboard rather than a "chalkboard" (as an alternative nomenclature for instance)?

I'd personally tend towards a rather more pragmatic explanation for the removal of blackboards (if it has been done much) - simply that it is easier to write on whiteboards and less messy in that there is no chalk dust etc.

They're pretty good really.

The notes application means in diagram intensive lessons, the teacher can have them pre-drawn up, which means it takes less time at the start of the lesson. They can make them like powerpoint presentations which the students can draw their ideas onto (particularly physics).

Some teachers just use them as projectors though.

When used well, they can certainly aid learning, as well as making the lessons more interesting, because when someone enjoys the way the lesson is set out, they will take more notice of it.
