Hello all. The PC I just ordered from overlockers arrived, and I've got it set up.

Now, the problem is, I've hooked up my two monitors to the Radeon HD 6950, but only the primary one is displaying. The computer does not even detect my second monitor. They are both VGA I believe, with adapters attached to work with the card. I've checked that everything is connected correctly, with no luck.

Install ATI drivers?

My reasoning is,

I have re-installed my pc today and I have two monitors, and only one worked until I put Nvidia drivers on.

You can't Connect 2 VGA monitors to a HD 6950 with DVI adapters.

One of the connectors is DVI-I and carries an analogue signal so you can connect to VGA.

The other connector is DVI-D and is a digital signal only. You can't connect a VGA monitor to a DVI-D connector.

Do neither of the monitors have a DVI or HDMI connection?

Ah, yes, no DVI or HDMI connections.

And stulid, I already have up to date ATI drivers all installed. :)

Seems like its just a case of ancient monitors. Will have to see about investing in something more up to date then

I have pointed out to OcUK that the descriptions of most of their HD 6950's are wrong where they state "2 Dual-Link DVI-I".

Nothing was done about it.

That is honestly rather disappointing to see from Overclockers. Just looked myself, and indeed they are all listed as having 2 Dual-Link DVI-I slots. Rather misleading, and as I cannot afford to get a new monitor right now after such a big spend... Well, going back to 1 monitor after so long is rather annoying. Oh well.

Done, the description will update on that graphics card shortly. :)

Any mistakes on the website, please let me know in the Customer Services section and I shall make sure it is sorted.

Ah, marvelous. I'd just sent in a complaint about that through a webnote, its just going to look like crazy rambling now. :D

But yes, other than this little hiccup (oh god how do people function using only one monitor its driving me mad), very pleased with Overclockers. Lovely machine.

Do you want me to list all the cards that applies to because it's most of the HD 6950 & 6970 cards?

You do not have to list them, just the links would be fine, and I shall work on them in the morning, it is not my role to sort this out, but I will do them anyway to stop any further issues in the future. :)

If you can provide the details in the Pre-Sales CS section of the forums I will get on them first thing in the morning. I really do appreciate your time and effort. :)

No problem.

I've listed in CS all the HD 6850, 6870, 6950 and 6970 cards where the descriptions are incorrect.

Cheers.

Sorry to drag up a week old thread but I'm interested to know how to overcome this problem as I am shortly going to be putting together a new PC and will be using a decent graphics card but like the op I have two monitors which only have VGA inputs.

Are there graphics cards still which ave dual DVI-I outputs? so I could still use the adapters I currently use? If not is there any way to convert from DVI-D to vga that works well and doesn't cost much?
