pc audio problem

hello good people im wondering if any of you can help me

i bought this mobo

im using the soundcard that came with it and using a toslink optical cable to go to my samsung surround sound thing is i get no sound at all

been to sound devices and set spdif as default as shown in pic below but still no sound only audio i get is through my hdmi cable which is plugged into my grapics card

only the realtek hdmi audio works which is strange because the soundmax digital output is also hdmi audio but i get no sound when i set to default

anyone got any ideas

also using windows 7 64bit if that helpsohh and when i look at the optical port on the sound card i see the red light

tried that disabled everything but the spdif still i get no sound

must be my reciever because ive tried absoulutley everything now and i still get no sound at all

yeah cant find that controll pannel on my pc for the life of me i cannot understand why it wont work
