pc audio problem

hello good people:D im wondering if any of you can help me

i bought this mobo

im using the soundcard that came with it and using a toslink optical cable to go to my samsung surround sound thing is i get no sound at all

been to sound devices and set spdif as default as shown in pic below but still no sound only audio i get is through my hdmi cable which is plugged into my grapics card

only the realtek hdmi audio works which is strange because the soundmax digital output is also hdmi audio but i get no sound when i set to default:confused:

anyone got any ideas:confused:

also using windows 7 64bit if that helps:Dohh and when i look at the optical port on the sound card i see the red light

Try disabling all the audio devices except the one you want to use in device manager. I had similar fun with a Xonar DS, and this sorted it.
 
Try this, right click orange speaker icon on taskbar to right > click sound mamager and set speaker config to 5.1[click orange icon-set to center:sub speakers/black-side speakers/green-front speakers/pink-mic] or 7.1,set up is roughly the same, click blue arrow to test if it works press ok. Next click orange speaker icon go to system sound events click > playback double click on speakers > click levels and check your speaker levels, mic, etc, set everything to 100 + make sure nothing is muted.
