PC booting problem

Switched on my PC this morning and couldn't get it to boot. Its been running fine since forever and I have not made any changes of late.

I can get it to boot if I use the override option in MSI bios, so there is nothng wrong with the Win 10 install.

I would guess something has changed in the bios settings. I have my main HDD plugged into SATA1 and a second HDD plugged into SATA2, the spare is used as as storage only and has no operating system installed. I have not changed any options in bios.

Anything obvious I'm missing?

My main HDD is showing as #1 on the boot priority.

When booting it either just hangs on the splash page or sometimes a blank screen with a flashing cursor.

No, but I did find out what I was doing wrong. I had my main HDD selected as #1 boot (WD.. whatever), but for some reason I needed a different thing selected as my boot device. I guess the boot device although being my WD drive has a partition that is separate somehow.
